Touring Training for Theater Artists: A tool kit and conversation.
You’ve gotten your show together - how to take it on the road.
You’ve worked hard to create your vision - let the world see it. (And maybe see the world as well.)
Join Llysa Holland, an artistic instigator of theater simple and company touring manager for 18 years, as she unzips her brain to let practical information, ideas and touring tactics out in a room near you. This workshop focuses on strategies to help get your work ‘on-the road.’ While topics are frequently driven by the needs of the class, we will cover:
- TOOL KIT essentials: budgets, tech riders, contracts, logistics, and timelines.
- Life on the Festival and Fringe - Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Canada, the US, Prague, Singapore - where do you want to go? And what might you bring that they haven’t seen?
- Show Business - where’s the money? And who will give it to me?
- Presenters and producers - what is the difference, and where do I find them?
- Alternate ideas of producing theater - collaborations with artists, groups, institutions, and gigs in 12unexpected places.
- What do YOU know and have you tried, and are willing to share?
- Goal setting: What do I NEED vs. What do I WANT
