Grey’s Anatomy Star Goes to Stage

News by Janet Thielke  |  June 27, 2009

Speculation has been flying as to what Grey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight would do after leaving the show. Though it looked like Knight was Broadway bound, it was confirmed on June 19th that he would instead begin his stage career in LA’s own Mark Taper Forum. Knight will play Leo Frank in the 1998 musical Parade, which tells the true story of the arrest, conviction and lynching of Leo Frank in Atlanta after the Civil War. “I am very fortunate to return to the theater playing Leo Frank in this incredible, acclaimed production of ‘Parade,’” Knight said. “After a five-year break, it feels great to be on stage again.” Co-conceived by Hal Prince with a book by Alfred Uhry and  music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, Tony-winner Rob Ashford will direct and choreograph the show. Tickets go on sale June 26th.
