Cornerstone Theatre Company proudly reported their most recent play, Touch the Water, played to sold out crowds its final two weekends. So what’s up next for Cornerstone? Their sixth Institute Summer Residency begins July 9, when 17 students aged 19 to 50+ head up to Eureka, California to help produce a new community-collaborative production as well as take classes in Cornerstone’s methodology. The production is of an original work by Ensemble member Peter Howard called Golden Fleece: Jason in Eureka, a Eureka-specific retelling of the mythic adventures of Jason. The play includes the classic epic tale combined with present-day characters living in a west side Eureka neighborhood.
