The Blank Theatre Company, an award-winning non-profit theatre production organization is looking to fill a Managing Director position.
Duties: The Managing Director is responsible for the overall management of the company, including all administrative aspects, personnel, development/ fundraising, marketing/public relations, educational programs, union agreements, facility scheduling, and box office. He/She will develop and direct all financial aspects and obligations of the company. This position will also be instrumental in the leadership and creation of The Blank’s “future”, working in close partnership with the Founding Artistic Director and the Board of Directors in the planning and achievement of the long-term goals of the organization. The Managing Director will be responsible for contributing to and overseeing the implementation of our five year development plan.
Requirements: Experience in theatre, fundraising, marketing, and development of an arts organization are essential tools. MBA in theatre management, or comparable professional experience preferred. Connections in the Hollywood/Los Angeles community a plus. Strong people skills, excellent communication, organization, and public relations skills are essential. Must be self motivated and disciplined, and able to work as a team player. Financial and negotiating skills are necessary. Computer literacy required.
